  • There is no interest that students have to pay on this Programme as it is a not-for-profit programme and is established purely for the benefit of the students from developing countries studying in Japan.
  • FAP will ease students’ difficulty in making large payments such as tuition fee, boarding fee, deposit when renting a flat, fee to join overseas or domestic study tours etc., as it will turn those large payments into monthly disbursements of 10,000 yen. Students will be relieved from their financial concerns with FAP and will be able to focus on their study.
  • When there is a time lag between the date when a student has to make large payments described above (2.) and the date that he/she can receive the money for their part-time jobs or the money from their parents, FAP can fill in the gap between those dates and can relieve the student from his/her financial concern.
  • Students who are not in immediate need for funds can also benefit from FAP as this will provide them some extra funds to buy textbooks or a computer and to make the most of their study in Japan.

  • What’s more……
  • The students who have finished or are nearly finishing their reimbursements without delay and who have achieved high academic performances will be automatically be the candidates for Academic Excellence Award and if the student is selected as a winner, he/she will receive an award and money equivalent to a 30% of the individual reimbursable funds.
  • The students returning the fund without delay are entitled to enter Essay Contest and the winners will receive award money.
  • The recipient students can apply for the FAP internship at UNU.
  • Students can read “UNU-FAP Outreach”, a bi-annual newsletter with useful information for student life and career development in Japan.
  • Students will receive information on various events and activities of UNU such as UNU Global Seminars.
