Cooperating Universities (CUs) screen students through interviews and/or other measures according to the following criteria:

The students accepted as a FAP Recipient Student will sign the “Agreement on Financial Assistance for Students from Developing Countries Studying in Japan”. Student and the CU will go through all the details in the agreement made by the CU through FAPS Operation and sign and write the date on the agreement. The student and CU also need to put tax stamps and their seals (WARIIN) on the agreement. In some cases, signature(s) of Guarantor and/or Guardian is/are necessary.

The fund is provided to the recipient student in the way that the CU has decided (examples: in cash, bank transfer, offsetting of tuition fee) on the date that the CU has scheduled.
The screening results will be informed to students by CUs.
